Kalten's small victory.

Kalten Azree’s main goal in life was to annoy the crap out of Josie. Valissa Josephine Romana was a young woman who knew exactly what she wanted out of her college career and meeting Kalten turned her world upside down.

“You seriously need to lighten up Romana…” He said as she walked into the barn to work with one of the horses she was training for her finals. He seemed to be everywhere she wished he wasn’t and she gave off a small growl of frustration.

“And you seriously need to go away…” She said as she pulled Tokk out of the stall to brush her down. The mare snorted in frustration and stomped her hoof, clearly just as annoyed as Josie and Kalten just laughed.

“I will leave you alone once you agree to go out for coffee with me..” He said his eyes sparkling because he knew he was getting to her. For months he had been pestering her trying to get her to give in to him. They were total opposites, Josie as he called her was focused and driven… He was more of a rebel and easy going. His goal was to get  her to lighten up and admit she might like him just a little.

She was quiet for a moment and focused on brushing  Tokk so she didn’t look him in the eyes as she thought of how to respond. She wondered if she finally gave into him then he would leave her alone.

“Fine… Coffee it is.” She said looking back at him her mismatched eyes gleaming at him. “Hopefully this will get you off my back.”

“Not likely sweets…” Kalten said smugly. “ I will see you after class…”

Before she could answer he headed  down the corridor of the stable a small swagger gracing his steps and the look of victory in his eyes.
